Providing Safe, Authentic, and Non-Judgmental Mental Health therapy Across Maine—Proud LGBTQIA+ Ally and Neurodivergent Affirming!
Therapeutic Alliance Services, LLC was founded in 2024 by Danielle Brown, who envisioned a different approach to mental health care. After years of working in community mental health, she realized it didn’t align with her values or the impact she wanted to make. Tired of working under others who controlled every aspect of her practice—including who she could work with and how she expressed her authentic, vibrant personality—Danielle chose to create a space where she could fully embrace who she is and offer clients the freedom and support they deserve.
Danielle created a space where clients can be their true, authentic selves—free from judgment—and feel safe within a supportive, healing environment. Her vision is to grow the practice with like-minded providers, mentor newly licensed clinicians in a relaxed and accepting setting, and welcome individuals seeking a refreshing, unconventional approach to therapy.

Danielle Brown, the heart and mind behind our practice, is a dedicated mental health professional with over 15 years of experience helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges. Born and raised in Maine, Danielle’s journey began with a passion for understanding the human experience, leading her to earn a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s in clinical mental health counseling from Southern New Hampshire University. She is now pursuing her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at Capella University, demonstrating her commitment to continuous growth, leadership, and advancing the counseling profession.
As a neurodivergent individual who has faced her own challenges, Danielle deeply understands how isolating and overwhelming the journey toward healing can feel. Having navigated her own mental health path—and experiencing firsthand the frustration of working with therapists who didn’t fully listen or connect—Danielle has made it her mission to provide something different. She creates a therapeutic alliance rooted in trust, empathy, and genuine understanding, making her a sought-after counselor for those seeking a safe, supportive space to embrace their authentic selves.
Danielle’s extensive experience spans roles in inpatient psychiatric hospitals, community mental health, in-home support, child protective services, and behavioral health homes. This diverse background has shaped her holistic, compassionate approach, allowing her to meet clients where they are with tailored care and unwavering support.
Her greatest professional passion lies in clinical supervision, sharing her knowledge, and teaching future counselors, where she finds purpose in supporting new clinicians as they grow in confidence and competence.
Beyond her professional life, Danielle finds joy in her beautiful, blended family, raising two daughters and a bonus son with her supportive husband. She loves spending time by the water, playing sports, and unwinding with true crime and reality TV marathons. Her lived experience, combined with her professional expertise, empowers her to foster meaningful connections and guide clients toward healing and self-acceptance.
My Approach
My approach to therapy is built on real connection, authenticity, and trust. I believe that the counselor–client relationship is the most important part of the healing process. When you feel safe enough to be fully yourself—and know that you’re genuinely seen and understood—real growth can happen. I show up as my authentic self and invite you to do the same, so together we can create a space that feels supportive, accepting, and judgment-free.
Much of my work focuses on how our early experiences and relationships shape the way we think, feel, and connect with others now. When those early bonds were confusing, inconsistent, or painful, they can leave us struggling with trust, boundaries, or self-worth. Exploring those patterns in a safe, trusting counselor–client relationship helps you understand where they come from and how to build new, healthier ways of relating.
I also take a trauma-informed approach, recognizing how deeply trauma can affect your emotions, body, and relationships. My goal is to help you feel grounded, safe, and empowered while working through what has been overwhelming or painful. I use flexible, creative strategies—like mindfulness, parts-of-self work, and practical coping tools—tailored to what works best for you.
As both a therapist and a clinical supervisor, I’m passionate about helping people believe in their own ability to grow and create change. I see therapy as a collaborative process built on mutual respect, trust, and authenticity—one where the counselor–client relationship serves as the foundation for healing, growth, and reconnection with your most genuine self.
evidence based practices
I draw on relationship-based and early experience-focused principles from the psychodynamic approach. This perspective emphasizes the influence of early relationships—especially with primary caregivers—in shaping how individuals navigate connections later in life. When these early experiences involve inconsistency, neglect, or conflict, they can contribute to maladaptive attachment patterns such as trust issues, fear of abandonment, or emotional dependency.
Additionally, I integrate a trauma-informed lens, recognizing how trauma affects the brain, body, emotions, and relationships. This approach prioritizes safety, trust, and empowerment as key components of healing. Through creative, flexible interventions, I tailor my work to each client’s unique needs, helping them recognize their strengths, overcome challenges, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships with themselves and others.
